Integration

Integration is the reverse of differentiation.

Integration was originally discovered not as the reverse of differentiation, but as a process of summation. The notation for integration evolved from the summation approach. The sign for integration, the integral sign , is an elongated S.

Results (or rules) :

x x n = x n + 1 n + 1 + c

k f x dx = k f x dx
